'Padmavati' to release next November

Actor #Ranveer_Singh, known for his quirky streak, announced the release date of his upcoming film "Padmavati" in Roman style.

The actor shared the release date in Roman numerals. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, which also stars Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, will hit the screens on November 17 next year. 

Ranveer will be seen as Alauddin Khilji, the second ruler of the Khilji dynasty, in the film.

Britain-based boy band #The_Vamps will return to India later this month to play at the #Global_Citizen_Festival_India, where names like #Jay_Z and #Coldplay will plug their music chords.

The Vamps, artistes of Virgin EMI UK, made their debut India visit earlier this year for a collaboration with Vishal-Shekhar for the song "Beliya".

They will be coming to India on November 16. Global Citizen Festival India will be held at the MMRDA grounds here on November 19. 

"Global Citizen Festival is an amazing event for such a good cause and we are honoured to have been asked to be a part of it," James McVey said in a statement issued on behalf of the band.

Sexual violence largely ignored by film industry: Big B

Megastar #Amitabh_Bachchan on Friday said the issue of sexual violence and sexual consent have been largely ignored by the Indian film industry, and questioned the absence of an independent word to denote female valour.

Amitabh analysed the changing role of women in Indian cinema at the inaugural of the 22nd edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival here.

"Meenal Arora, Falak Ali and Andrea Tariang (the female characters in 'Pink') are to all intents and purposes emancipated women with all liberties accorded by their financial independence. Yet the film raises unsettling queries largely ignored by our film industry. 'Pink' brings the issues of sexual violence and sexual consent into urban middle class homes," he said.

I like to check online references for concepts when I plan on doing a shoot, and when I see there are no results for such photoshoots I feel happier because I might experiment it for the first time but there is equal nervousness because nobody wants to fail the efforts and manpoer that’s been put in creating those pictures.

Our motto was to create the best from the limited time and we started preparing for  both the shoots.

Goa to host new music and arts festival

A boutique music and arts festival, GOAT, will be held in January 2017 in Goa.

The three-day multi-genre festival starting on January 27 will take place on the beaches of Ashvem and Morjim in Goa.

The GOAT festival is presented by GOAT Music, a London-based music and events agency, founded by Dave Gaydon and Lou Birkett.

"After leaving The Roundhouse in the summer of 2015, never would we have imagined to be able to present our own festival in Britain, let alone in India. The reception has been so encouraging. Eli Lilly, Disney to release books for kids with diabetes

Pharma major #Eli_Lilly India, in partnership with Disney Publishing Worldwide, on Thursday announced the release of custom books for children suffering with Type 1 diabetes in India, the company said.

The books -- "Go, Team Coco!" and "Coco's Fun Activity Book" -- will be available in both Hindi and English.

The books, which originally debuted in the year 2001, will help nearly 70,000 children under the age of 15 and suffering from Type 1 diabetes in India. 

"Through this initiative, we hope to provide an empowering message for families with children who have Type 1 diabetes. These books can help children and their families feeling inspired and empowered to live a full, active life even with the disease," said Edgard Olaizola, Managing Director, Eli Lilly and Company (India).

John Abraham's Marathi production to go on floors in March

Actor John Abraham says he might start his first Marathi film production by March next year.

Present at the trailer launch of Marathi film "Fugay" (Baloons) here on Wednesday, John congratulated director Swapna Waghmare Joshi, and said: "It's a fantastic trailer. According to me, this film will do a great business. I am very lucky to be working with Swapna in future as a producer and may be as an actor too."

"I am doing my first production with Swapna and we are hopefully starting in March. It's a fantastic script. I am really excited and looking forward to working with her."

The actor, born to a Malayali father and a Zoroastrian mother, was brought up in Mumbai.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's move to demonetise high value currency notes will not have any effect on the release of "Rock On 2", says actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar who feels nothing can stop the audiences from coming to theatres once they decide that a film needs to be watched.


Farhan, who plays one of the leads in "Rock On 2" and is also the film's co-producer, wonders if there is ever the perfect time to release a film.
"Finally, it's not about how much you market your film. If intense marketing helped sell a film to the audience, every film would be a hit. I feel the public makes up its mind whether it wants to see a film or not early in the process of a film's marketing. If they've decided they want to see a film, nothing can stop them," he said.
After Modi announced scrapping of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, there was a buzz that the makers of "Rock On 2" were contemplating postponing its release to avoid the immediate backlash of the currency shortage among consumers.
"Wrong," said producer Ritesh Sidhwani, and added: "We are releasing on schedule this Friday."

The Los Angeles county department of children and family services has concluded its investigation into child abuse allegations against Pitt, sources told

"It was a full and thorough investigation and the determination has been made that no charges should be brought," said a source, adding that there was no finding of abuse. 

"The likely next step is a referral to family court so that the matter of custody can be determined. There is no permanent custody agreement currently in place, only an arrangement pending the outcome of this investigation. Now, with this conclusion, custody can be determined," the source added.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to demonitise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes to curb black money. He says it isn't politically motivated and is a great move.

The central government on late Tuesday night notified the changes.

"Farsighted. Extremely smart. And not politically motivated. Will bring such a positive change for Indian economy. Great move Narendra Modi," Shah Rukh tweeted on Wednesday night.

No trace of Kannada actors who jumped into lake

A day-long search on Tuesday failed to trace the bodies of two actors who drowned in a nearby lake while enacting a stunt scene by jumping from a helicopter during the filming of a Kannada movie, police said.

"Rescue teams have been searching the TG Halli lake since morning but were unable to trace the bodies of (Anil and Uday) till evening due to poor visibility, silt and water weeds in its polluted backwaters," police officer H.L. Nandeesha told from the location.

I saw the video and there was no safety precautions taken for those actors. Jaden Smith mistook Chloe Ferry for Kylie

Actor #Jaden_Smith reportedly went up to "Geordie Shore" actress Chloe Ferry at the 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards thinking she was his former girlfriend and reality TV star #Kylie_Jenner.

During the event, held earlier this week, Smith later spent the entire night chatting with Ferry, reports

"Chloe got a shock when Jaden came bowling over to her but she lapped it up," a source told The Sun newspaper.

'Om Shanti Om' being made into musical in Japan

Choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan's 2007 film "Om Shanti Om", which regaled Bollywood audiences with its song and dance sequences, is now being made into a musical in Japan.

Farah's directorial, which revoleves around reincarnation and has an ensemble cast, clocked nine years since its release in the Hindi film industry on Wednesday.

"Maybe a good day to announce on nine years of 'Om Shanti Om' that it's being made into a huge musical in Japan," Farah tweeted on Wednesday. 

Big B sings Ganesh aarti in 'Sarkar 3'

Megastar #Amitabh_Bachchan has sung a Ganesh aarti song for the upcoming film "Sarkar 3", helmed by filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma.

The 74-year-old thespian on Tuesday night shared two photographs of himself performing an aarti on a beach for a scene in the film. 

"In prayer for Sarkar 3' and the aarti for Ganesh, which I have sung," Amitabh tweeted.
