Director Aditya Dhar says cinema halls will see a bigger audience after 50% of the population is vaccinated : Bollywood News – Bollywood Hungama

With things recently coming back to normal in the Indian film industry, the second wave of COVID-19 has left people helpless once again. The makers of multiple unreleased films will have to postpone their releases since the positive cases have been on an all-time high in the country. Just as people were getting used to the new normal, it looks like we may have to resort to the initial days of lockdown. Uri: The Surgical Strike and The Immortal Ashwatthama director Aditya Dhar opens up about the current situation of the cinema goers.

Aditya Dhar says that as a culture, Indians are used to going out to meet friends and family as we have very less things to entertain ourselves, and cinema halls and movies play a major part in entertaining us. While the cinema lovers will have to wait for some time to enjoy the experience to its fullest for a little while longer, Aditya Dhar says that the producers will have the confidence to release big-budget films when at least 50% of people are vaccinated in major cities.

Aditya Dhar also said that so far, the vaccination has been going at a good speed and by June or July, we should have crossed the 50% mark. Once that happens, the cinema halls will see a bigger audience and the producers will also be okay with releasing multiple movies. On the work front, he is working on The Immortal Ashwatthama starring Vicky Kaushal, who has recently tested positive for COVID-19.
